All calls are approved by the ICF for 1.0 CCEU in the Category of "Core Competency". Due to expenses required for application and administration of these certificates, there will be a small fee of $10 per credit. And there are two easy options to get them:. Please note that as we are handling many different certificates we are issuing them manually, so please be patient and allow 24 hours for your credits to arrive.

To Purchase your Coaching Skills Membership
Membership Access to your unlimited Credits
Enter SKILL and DATE of call
Enter PASSWORD
Click the link above. Be sure to fill out the proper topic and date for the call. And of course you must include your password that is given on the call.
You can use this as many times as you want for as many credits, but there will be a fee for each credit. Don't forget, you also need the password from each recording to be eligible
By the way, if you really like these calls, and you think you'll be doing many of them for many more credits, you might consider clicking the BLUE button to the right and purchase your 6-month Unlimited access CSF Membership for only $100

If you know that you're going to be getting plenty of credits, you might consider a 6 month membership.
For only $100 you'll be able to gain access to as many credits you are eligible for during your membership term (beginning when you make this purchase.)
As a member, all you need to do in the future is to click the magic PURPLE link to the right and your email will be sent to us, we'll confirm your membership, and send you your credit.
If you are only interested in a single credit, you might consider clicking the GREEN button to the left.

If you are a CSF Member, all you have to do is click this link to send me a simple email (no more payments necessary, but don't forget to include the date, topic, and the password from the call) and we'll check to make sure you're on the list and send you your credit.
(If you have not already purchased a CSF Membership, you will be requested to go back and click either the GREEN button on the left for a single purchase, or the BLUE button to get your 6-month CSF membership)

Q: What is the COACHING SKILLS FORUM all about?
A: The "CSF" meets every 2nd Tuesday at 10:00 am CST and every 4th Wednesday at 2:00 pm CST to discuss in great depth and detail a specific Coaching skill for the entire call. Each session is an hour in length.

Q: What makes the CORE COMPETENCY CALLS different from all the other core competency calls out there?
A: Great question. These calls are completely interactive and encourage participation from all coaches attending. It's not just a place where one can go and listen to a coach talk about what they know or think about our coaching, it's where coaches from all over, of all levels of experience gather to share wisdom, thoughts, insights and questions. Our conversation and learning goes beyond any single training, and is more like tapping into all the coaching schools and training out there to create a collective exploration of our coaching skills. Not only that, but with provocative questions we dig deeper and expand our coaching exploration wider and boldly go where no other calls and schools have gone before.

Q: Why are you doing this?
A: Very simply, although the training curriculum in most coaching schools are quite extensive and very powerful, there is only so much time that the instructors and leaders can devote to the teaching of each skill. Also, although the definitions of these skills are quite simple, the understanding and application can be vast and complex. This is not meant to replace any Coach training, but to be used as a tool to enhance and strengthen your comprehension and ability to effectively utilize these skills with your clients for even greater results.

Q: Who are the people on the call?
A: All the coaches involved are from a wide range of training and experience. There are some who are just beginning their training and the learning of these skills, while others have been coaching successfully for years. Any and every coach is welcome to participate, because in the forum design, we all get to learn from each other's brilliance.

Q: Can I participate?
A: Yes, indeedy. But remember, this is not meant to replace the training that you'll get in Coaching schools.
And don't worry about your level of experience. If you're new at this, you'll be able to provide great insight to all of us who have forgotten the basics. And if you've been at it for some time, you just might learn something as well as pass on your deep wisdom. All are invited.
Be advised that the list of skills is extracted from several resources, so there may be some "school specific" terminology and jargon involved. This is not meant to be exclusive, it's just the vocabulary that we've learned and then we get to "re-define" on our calls.

Q: Is there a charge for any of this?
A: Nope. The calls are free for all who want to jump in and play.
However, if you're wanting to receive CCEU credit, there will be a small processing fee.

Q: CCEUs? You mean I can get any coaching credit for these calls?
A: YES!!!  We are approved by the ICF to issue 1.0 CCEU (Continued Coach Education Unit) credit under “Core Competencies” (which can be a hard credit to find so easily).  All you have to do is participate (or listen to the archived recording of the call) and somewhere in the middle I'll provide the special PASSWORD you'll need to get the certificate. This is important, so be sure to listen closely, because you'll never know when it will pop up.
Q: What? That seems kind of strange. Why not just pop it at the beginning and end like everyone else does?
A: Well, of all the calls I've been on that follow that format, I find it's pretty easy to just get the password at the beginning, then tune out and "passively" listen as the speaker talks and talks and take care of my email or other such stuff, and then pay attention at the end to get the closing password. Sure, I've been on the call, but I've glossed over all that important stuff in the middle. Because the CSF is forum generated, we encourage you to participate, and because the password appears somewhere in the middle, you need to "actively" listen for it.
Q: Hm. That makes sense. This way, I'm really engaged with the call. That's why I sometimes want to jump in the conversation even when I'm listening to the recording later on. No wonder these calls have such great value and learning.
A: Thanks. So once you get the password, then to receive your credit, simply click the one of the proper corresponding buttons above to make your payment.

  • If you're interested in a single CCEU, click the GREEN button. There will be a $10 charge (to compensate for application and admin fees)
  • If you totally dig these calls and anticipate getting more credits, consider clicking the BLUE button and purchasing a CSF 6-month Unlimited Download membership for only $100 (That's 12 calls available, plus any archived recordings.)
  • If you are already a member, simply click the PURPLE button to send me the credit request.

Once you're clicked your particular button (and either made your payment or sent me an email) I'll send you a corresponding certificate for you to download and keep for your records. You'll need to submit a copy of these certificates when you reapply.
Please include the DATE and TOPIC for the call and the secret PASSWORD. This is important as I also have other calls going on as well as people listening to the archived recordings and that information will help me easily send you the correct certificate.

Q: Wait, can I also get credit for any of the archived recordings?
A: Most certainly you can. In fact, the ICF allows up to 6 "self-study" credits, so you can pick your favorite 6 and get credit for listening to the archived recordings. However, I'm going to appeal to your integrity and coaching professionalism. This limit was established to prevent coaches from just passively listening to a recording while doing email or something else and then claiming tons of credits without having really learned anything. The whole purpose for the renewal process is to call coaches forth to continually grow and deepen our coaching skills and development. So instead of looking at this as a "live" and "recorded" call conversation, let's look at it as an Active and Passive Listening experience. So my only request (as I would have if you were on the actual call) is that you "actively listen" to the recordings, instead of popping them on and then mowing the lawn, doing the dishes, or other activities that would distract you from the informative content. This way, recorded or live, you're still growing your coaching powerfully. And please remember, that while you can only get credit for 6 archived calls, you can acquire as many live call credits as you want. So please make sure you're able to be on the call to give you the greatest number of possible credits.

Q: Can I get credit for listening to different calls of the same topic?
A: You bet your sweet bippy.
Q: But that doesn't make sense. That means I'm getting multiple credits for the same learning.
A: On the contrary. Due to the nature of the forum, there are different people on the call, each contributing different information. Different questions are asked. And even with the same questions, because there is such a vast range and depth in our coaching skills, the answers are invariably different. So really, even though the topic is the same, the content of the calls are very different.

Q: How do I get involved?
A: It's so simple. Call 1-(218) 339-8524 PIN: 2336# (BeDo) at the time of the call and you're there.

Q: I can't listen to them now, but I want to later. Can I save them to my computer or MP3 player?
A: That, as well, is quite simple. Of course, you can just go back to the top of this page and click on whatever skill you'd like to listen to and a new window will open and start playing the file. You can also "right click" the skill and choose the option to "Save As" and then you can download it right to your desktop.

Q: These calls are absolutely wonderful...
A: Thank you.  I think so, too.  And they are truly wonderful because coaches just like you participate and make each and every call rich with amazing insight to our coaching skills.  I truly believe that these calls are an invaluable resource to any coach, no matter what level of experience.  So thank you for your participation.

Q: You';re welcome, but that wasn't my question.
A: Oh, sorry.  I'm just so proud of these calls.  I think they're some of the most amazingly consistent coach development calls available. What was your final question?

Q: Well, I was just wondering if there were any other calls that you might recommend.
A: Ah yes, great question.  And funny you should ask, because I also facilitate another series of calls that focus entirely on our ICF CORE COMPETENCIES.  In partnership with the Chicago ICF Chapter these call are also is also free and open to all coaches as well as provides CCEUs for participation.  It's a great way to learn more about the “universal” coaching format and structure as defined by the ICF.  And similar to the SKILLS FORUM, it’s rich with coach participation, insight, and great learning.  They occur every 3rd Wednesday of every month, and you can learn more about them at the Chicago ICF Chapter website http://www.chicagocoachfederation.org
